This exhibition ran from 15th July to 9th August 2016 at Inkwell Arts in Chapel Allerton, Leeds.
A large collection of artists and their work were showing, myself included.
I had a needle felted sculptural figure, and an incredibly hairy plaster of Paris bandage dog on view to the public.
I was part of a group exhibition at Inkwell Arts involving artists across multiple Leeds sites under the tuition of Paul Digby. The theme aimed to challenge our traditional perceptions of the British Landscape, encouraging urban perspectives in our work.

East Street Arts Community Learning Exhibition
This was a group exhibition for those who take part in East Street Arts classes in Leeds.
Friday 10th June to Tuesday 21st June 2016 at Inkwell Arts in Chapel Allerton.
I had 5 pieces in this one, all made in classes run by East Street Arts:
Before 2016 I hadn’t been to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park since I was doing my GCSE Art in 2003, and now I’ve been twice within 3 days on two separate trips!
My most recent previous visit, was mentioned previously, in my previous post on the Easter School… Sorry teehee…
And the second visit was with Inkwell Arts! So much art! Woo!
As I was so enamoured by the KAWS exhibits on the college trip, I was happy to dedicate myself to the rest of the artists and enjoy the full extent of the park on this second day out. (Though I will admit I did go see some KAWS again!)
My partner came along with me and we focused on photography together. We found lots of cool bird poop, mould, and weathering to add to my digital layers collection, alongside the man made masterpieces on view. I particularly liked Sophie Ryder’s work and, of course, Dame Barbara Hepworth’s ‘The Family of Man’.
This time I also got a chance to visit Bill Viola’s stunning exhibition in the gallery space.
My partner and I were completely captivated by the messages conveyed within his digital pieces. We both have an interest in mental health and the human experience, so we loved dissecting, discussing, and ultimately piecing back together both the art and our thoughts.
Two trips, three days apart, but one very happy lady here!
At the end of March I took part in a wonderful initiative that was going on at the Leeds College of Art.
An Easter School for mature learners.
I went with two of my fellow artists from Inkwell Arts, and we had a blast!
We went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield, to gather first hand inspiration from the artists’ work, paying particular attention to the KAWS exhibit. Then our other days were spent having tutored lessons at the college on life drawing and sublimation printing.
We combined our trip to the sculpture park with our lessons to produce some awesome pieces.
The other adults ranged in ability but were all lovely and keen to learn, and the staff were brill and a credit to the college.
I enjoyed it so much I ended up buying my own sublimation heat press to keep practising at home!
Time to Talk day – our conversation at Inkwell Arts
We were challenged to show how we would campaign for better mental health from an artist point of view, using the time to talk tea bags.
